Motion Blur problem

jredman wrote on 3/29/2006, 1:11 PM
I am getting a doubling effect in my edited videos that is not present in the original captured video. It happens whenever there is panning in the scene.

I have looked at motion blur but can't find a way to turn it off globally. I can turn it off on each track with "Bypass Motion Blur" but even this seems to have no effect.

I have searched the forum and can't find the answer although I've found hundres of entries that contain "motion blur".

Any suggestions?

It's probably interlacing. How are you viewing the video when you see the doubling? If it's on your computer screen, try watching it on the television instead. If you see it in the Vegas preview window when it's set to full size try reducing the window to half size. If either of these options makes it go away then it's interlacing.

My guess is that you're previewing with a second monitor and that you have the "blend fields" deinterlace tab checked. If this is the case, don't worry about it. It's not going on your final video and it makes your preview look smoother.

Laurence - I have deinterlace as none but you are correct. What I thought I was seeing in the video was not coming out in the final product.

Remember there are two deinterlace tabs: one in the preview options and one in the project properties. the one I was talking about was the one in the preview options.
