Motion blur setting when generating project?

Hi,

I've looked through the forums and in the documentation, but have not found an answer to what should be a documented question. When using the Make Movie wizard in Vegas Movie Studio 4.0, what is the Motion Blur setting for in the Advanced Render dialog? When should one use or not use it? The online help doesn't say much, only that it makes the video "smoother."

Any opinions on this setting?

Thanks,

Scott

I don't have the answer but you can try (I'm gonna do it tonight) a short clip with and without Motion Blur.

Well, I tried it on a five-minute movie I created with lots of cuts and transitions and special effects, and the thing I noticed about the blur setting is that when played the resultant AVI, there was no sound. Weird. Maybe the sound would be there after rendering to MPEG using TMPGEnc, but the AVI had no sound when played in RealPlayer. When I disabled the motion blur, the resultant AVI played fine, sound and all.

Thanks,

Scott

I tried it and it made no difference! As I understand it, you use motion blur to make "noisy" video less obtrusive.

I feel stupid because I don't find any Motion Blur in the Advanced Render dialog. Where is it exactly?

From advanced render, click the Custom button.
