John, you can DL MainConcept MJPEG codec is a trial, but once you installed you'll be able to see the video in the TL.

doesn't quicktime inlcude a motion jpeg codec? i can't remember where i got mine.

SEW, I installed the FFdShow Codec and all works wonderfully! Thanks for your help. I greatly appreciate it!.

BTW in reply to an above post, I did install the Latest Quicktime 7.whatever, and it did nothing.

I considered the MainConcept MJPEG codec but free is better than $19 and the FFdShow Codec is great, has been around a while, is well supported by a user community and has many other features. Thanks

I installed the FFdShow Codec and worked for me in VMS, but I use adobe premiere elements to capture video with my camcorder and the video capture was choppy. I noticed the ffd icon in my icon tray so I uninstalled it and that fixed my capture issue. Now I use Windows Movie Maker to convert the movies from my Canon S3 to avi format.
