Motion menus

I am wanting to know if it is possible to add a video file to DVD arch which will automatically begin playing when the disc has been placed in the DVD player (I want the video file to play and then the menu to appear)? I am also wanting to know if the main menu selections can fade onto the screen after the video file has finished playing?

Start a menu based project. In the project overview window right click on the root icon (shaped like a disk) and choose insert introduction media.

You can insert any kind of back ground video you want. You cannot set fades in DVDA so you will have to do that in your video editor.

DVDA does not support delayed menu buttons, however you can fake this (success depends on the player).

Create your main menu and set all of the selection and highlighting color sets to "none", then go to DVDA's preview and click on the "capture to clipboard button" - then use your fav' utility to copy the clipboard to a jpeg.

When you create your intro, you then cross-fade to your jpeg at the end.

In DVDA you restore your color selection and highlighting information, then insert your intro video as previously described.

I would suggest staying away from motion menus of any sort with this, as there's no way to avoid a transition point that depending on the player, may be somewhat abrupt.
