Hi, I am editing a highlight video of me playing football and i want to highlight myself in a clip by adding a red circle around me to show who i am, i also want that circle to then track me for 2-3 seconds. I am trying to use bezier masking but unsure on how to add lets say a downloaded image of a transparent circle?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
you can draw your own custom shape in any paint program . just paint it in black and white . Paint the Shape in White , with the rest of the image in Black . In Vegas Cut the Black with Chroma key or Mask Generator , you now have a custom outline shape . you can re-color the outline shape to any color you want . If you had a green screen of you , you can make a glow outline around your shape using Chroma key , Mask Generator , Gaussian Blur ( full body perimeter halo ) . No extra special FX required .
For a 2-3 secondes following circle around a subject does it really needs a motion tracker and a external paint program? Using the cookie cutter (with border), on a duplicated track animated with a few keyframes would do I think.

Edit: Every how many frames should i add a keyframe so that it looks smooth?
Grazie is right. Your motion track event need not be duped.
Also, I agree with 3point, likely a manageable amount of keyframes could animate 2-3 seconds .... but hey .. let's say we want motion track ..
First, we are assuming the OP is running VP16/361 as this calls for the PIP script for Motion Track so you have to have that script ( I think it comes with Build 361).
So .. Here's one way to do it assuming you have done the tutorials on Motion Track, and you also know how to use the Cookie Cutter and PIP FX
Track one would be Titles and Text with transparent background. Delete all text so all you have is the background.
Track Two. Place your video event on the timeline that includes the element you want to track. Do the Motion track per the tutorial. Make sure it is tracking as you would wish.
Add the cookie cutter FX to the Title event on Track One. Create a red circle and locate it in the center. Add the PIP FX to this same title event. Within PIP, Move the red circle to the starting point of the motion track.
Select both the title event on track one and the motion track event on track two. Do Tools/Scripting/Copy Motion Track to PIP. The script should copy the motion track keyframes to the PIP. That should do it.
Not so easy, but doable. .

haven't used that in Vegas . I had previously watched that Magix's Motion Tracking video . The only Motion Tracking I have actually toyed with is from Hitfilm Pro . Once everyone gets wind of it , pretty soon everyone is gonna be wearing a bright white patch . Sure beats having to manually place a key frame for each frame . Huge time saver . Cookie Cutter can work , but if someone wants a custom shape , perhaps that generically outlines their shape , then Cookie Cutter won't cut it .
