Hi,

I need a audio Hardware for record and mix with vegas.
I need ADAT in/out, and I need wordclock sysnc, and chase smpte, because I use analog video format with smpte TC.

The vegas will work conected with Yamaha 02r trought ADAT. And I need audio sync reference for chase vegas by smtp.

What do you think, MOTU 828 that have wordclock sync , ADAT and SMPTE input/output. Or RME HDSP9652 with wordclock, ADAT and a MOTU MICRO EXPRESS LTC-SMPTE conversor.

Thanks a lot and sorry for my english

Im running 2 RME 9652's. There are problems, but it seems to be the best solution for what I have to do. Until vegas gets hardware input monitoring, Totalmix by RME seems to be the best bet for me

Pipe -
I know you've probably detailed your RME problems before, but could you sum them up again briefly for me? I'm looking into RME for a PC build and would like to know what the Vegas issues are.

Many thanks

The issues Im having right now are pretty small for the most part. There has been a lot of talk about the way RME handles buffers. The Sony guys can explain it better, but there is something that vegas does in a way different than nuendo, where vegas wants the sound card to flush its buffers on stop or something.

The RME plus the UAD-1 card in vegas is a major pain. You cant hit solo, unsolo or mute unless you are stopped when running UAD-1 plugs, at least in my case. Itll crash vegas.

Hitting solo without UAD-1 plugs many times causes a HUGE CPU spike. Not sure if its an RME issue entirely though

Im trying to think if Im having any other issues with RME at this time, but I cant think of them

There just isnt another card that has the feature set I need out there

Thanks for that. So nothing that makes the card totally unusable, just a glitch you can live with...

some weird skip issues that I need to get to the bottom of but hard to say who's fault it is

Flawless in cubendo

>> "Flawless in cubendo" <<

LOL! Sounds like a good title for a movie . . . or perhaps an album. ;-)
