Mouse pointer causing dropped audio/corrupt video?

Can anyone verify if this problem is unique to my setup or a prevalent issue?

Whenever I do a video capture in Vegas 5.0b, I get dropped audio frames and corrupt video when the mouse pointer is moved over and in the vicinity of the video control buttons on the video capture window display.
None of the problems encountered when using the keyboard shortcuts and mouse pointer away from the capture window.

I'm using a Sony Vaio desktop, P-4, using 4-pin firewire port on front of unit, CRT display. Sony camera position relative to the computer did not affect the results.

I'll take a shot at it and suspect something with your video card and/or driver. Seems to me I've heard of mouse-movement causing problems in video driver-problem situations in other apps.

Hopefully someone with more than a guess will chime in here.....

Are you using third-party mouse drivers like Logitech?

Have you audio drop like this (drop length is exactly one frame) ? :

Rarely, I have this problem and cant find why (for me it is not a mousse pointer issue):

I have no problem with Scenaliser Live.
