Mouse wheel doesn't zoom T/L.

Might be a seniors moment here.
Mouse works fine in everything including Vegas except the wheel will not zoom the T/L. Checked everything I can think of in Options, checked all the Help. Same mouse, previous PC, worked fine out of the box with Vegas. The office PC the same, V10. V11 mouse zooms the T/L, wierd.

And as I typed this I just realise there is one diiference. All the mice that work are PS/2, the one that doesn't is USB. Oddly enough though it worked just fine on the old PC. Oh, they're all basic Microsoft mice.

Microsoft mouse/driver?

If so, this is a known issue - try uninstalling the MS drivers and let Windows find generic ones.

Seems like I remember this issue with MS Mouse in the past.

Thanks,
that'd be in. The Win7 PC that it works in is using different drivers to the one it doesn't work in.

The wierd thing is the scroll wheel works correctly in Vegas in every other pane correctly. It even works in the T/L pane correctly as I can adjust the faders with it and scroll down the tracks with it, just cannot zoom the T/L itself with it.

There's probably only 10 programmers in the world that'd know how to get things to work like that and they all work for SCS :)

Yes - actually, it does zoom the T/L; try to turn the wheel really quickly, and you will see the T/L zooming just a tiny bit in/out. But of course it's impossible to work like that :)

And yes - very weird from the programming point of view.

Do you mean stretching out the timeline or making it larger?

I had that problem in 10 with my ms mouse. when I went to 11 it was fixed MS just released a new driver this week I think, if you have automatic updates on it probably installed it, it got installed on one of my computers but not my main edit machine I will check it out and see if the problem is on one.

Edit
with the new MS mouse and keyboard software in the mouse wheel section you can click on "programs that do not scroll correctly" find Sony Vegas check it and it will scroll fine. I tried it with Vegas movie studio, Pro 10 and Pro 11 & Acid studio, with it unchecked it scrolls weird.

Thank you so much.
That fixed it, I can add Vegas 9 to the list of programs it fixes.
It is an optional update so it might not get installed automatically.

I thought that SCS had fixed Vegas to work with MS "High Definition" mice. I know mine started working a few builds into VP11. But maybe it was an MS driver update that did it.

Mine is an MS Natural Wireless Laser 6000. Works in Vegas, still sucks in Adobe Bridge. Selecting programs that do not scroll correctly didn't used to have any effect but maybe that's changed too.
