*.MOV Files

Recently had my computer crash and had to start over from scratch. Now my *.mov extentions are not supported in Vegas 3.0. What's up? Help please.

Re-install QuickTime from the Apple server. Make sure to include the Authoring extensions.

Whilst we're on the subject, I sent a small QT clip to a friend with a Mac, but she couldn't see the picture - a message told her she didn't have the compressor to play it. I used Render as Quick Time5, 512k preset, Sorenson Video3 codec.

Is this codec something I can send her from my PC to her Mac, or would she need to get it from "somewhere" ?

Sounds like the required video codec is missing on the other machine. Have your friend update quicktime player and it should work-
