mov files play sporadically

Hi,

I have been having problems with Vegas Pro 11 showing mov files. After the QuitckTime 7.71 update my iPhone4 mov files suddenly stopped playing.
I searched through the database and reverted back to QuickTime version 7.60 as advised. For a while that worked wonders, but now what is happening is my mov files play fine for a while, then black, until I reinstall the Quicktime 7.60 update, after which the mov files play again for a few minutes, and then not. Not until I reinstall the 7.60 update, and the same cat-and-mouse game starts all over again. Driving me nuts!

I am doing a multi-camera concert video with various movie file types (altogether 23 different sources).
Anybody with the same problem?

specs: WIN7 64-bit, Vegas Pro 11 64-bit, Intel Core i5 2500K, 3,3GHZ, 8 GB of DDR3

Hi,

I also couldn't find any way to edit videos taken with an iPhone 4S. It works fine a few seconds, then the preview gets black after some random delay.

However, no problem at all with the MOV files ouf of an EOS 7D.

Strange indeed. But I noticed that when I switched to some other window (some other open application) and then returned to Vegas Pro, the iPhone4 mov files suddenly reappeared, eliminating the need to reinstall the older version of QuickTime . However, the preview suddenly blackened again during rendering, and I had to restart the rendering process, which went well the second time around. This was a short 6-minute section of the show only, so I am worried I will not be able to render the whole 2:48 hrs of the concert video without the preview blackening at one point or another.
