HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sonic Foundry\File Format Cache\{DDDB20E0-...}\ExtReader *.mov;*,qt;*.dv;*.gif exists in my registry. I still can't play MOV format in Vegas 3.0c I just reformated my drive (windows patch problems) reinstalled all software. Then install QuickTime 6.3. Would uninstalling vegas and reinstalling with Quick Time existing before install matter? Any help would be appreciated

Did you install the Quicktime authoring components? You don't need QT Pro, but you do need the authoring components, which aren't part of the default QT install.

I have no idea. How do I install Quicktime authoring components. I just made the mistake of purchusing QT Pro. Thanks for such a quick response. Your company is the best ever.

I found authoring option under custom install. That took care of problem. Thanks again SonicEPM, wish I wasn't in such a rush to get a project out. You would have saved me $31.00. Any way thanks for your commitment.

Wait... so does QT PRO have these 'Authoring Tools' installed by default or do I have to also pick them during custom install?

Also, if I'm able to play Quicktime/MOV's, does that mean that I probably already have the authoring tools installed?

Is there a way to tell whether or not I have them installed?

Thanks in advance,
