move center of dissolve

Is it possible to move the center of a dissolve or crossfade in one stroke? or one click and drag?
If I click and drag on the outgoing scene it will legnthen or shorten, but the incoming scene will remain the same.
I want to simply change the center of the crossfade without changing the overall length of the scene..

I'm not certain I understand your question, or what you're trying to achieve.

Right now you have two scenes that run, say, 12 seconds with a one second dissolve. You want to keep the 12 seconds overall but are looking to shorted/lengthen the dissolve?

Is this a correct interpretation?

By "center" are you meaning the point at which both clips are evenly exposed over each other?

If so, then if you right click on the transition and go to 'fade type' it will let you choose various different fade curves.

Expand track layers and drag the lower track to the left left or right. There is an adjustment for having it dissolve from center or before or after the cut and the number of seconds. Also, a crossfade isn't much different than a dissolve and you can right click and change it to that. I have tried them both and they look the same to me. If you expand track layers you can change the "fade" amount for each track separately if you use crossfades.

Hover you cursor over the overlap, hold Ctrl/Alt, slide the transition.

This simultaneously adjusts the out point of A and the in point of B.
The preview also changes to a split screen so you can see exaclty what footage you are exposing.
