Movement on the audio front

It seems that Magix have committed to developing at least some of the long-dormant Vegas-related audio products they purchased from Sony. A new Studio version of Soundforge has been released and they have announced a 64 bit Acid Pro for next year. The intuitive interface and workflow of Acid Pro still make it a worthwhile contender even though modern DAWs have moved on.

Isn't Sound Forge just a rebranding of Sony's SF11? Followed your link but didn't see anything about an announcement from Magix (but I have Facebook locked down). Any more details. Thanks.

Re Acid 8, Magix have said "Nothing specific yet, but it will definitely be released in the first half of 2018." Regarding Sound Forge Audio Studio 12, I believe it is 64 bit. It has already had 2 updates. I believe the 'Studio' bit means it is a cut-down version in the fashion of Movie Studio. You should find more information on the Magix Audio Forum

Yes, Audio Studio 12 is 64 bit and a compete rebuild. The meters, general appearance and UI are quite different from the previous versions. AFAIK, SF Pro 12 is still in the development stage and will be released to the beta test folks "soon".

I am interested in Sound Forge Pro 12 but only if they bring remote recording back and the product works fully off-line without sporadic activation/verification calls to "home".
