movie completed!

Hello,
For the past month and a half my tenth grade students have been working on creating a documentary film using VMS Platinum 7.

The final cut came in at 55 minutes with a one minute gag reel.

The quality of the movie has amazed everyone in the entire school. They say, "It looks like a real movie!" And it does. I am truly impressed with this movie program.

I would also like to thank members of this forum (members like Chienworks, Tim L, rustier, and others) for any and all advice to help make the movie possible.

Once again,
Thanks!

Don,

Congratulations on your success and your students' success. I'm sure they enjoyed it, and also came to realize just how much work goes into a project. (You've got me curious. Can you share any details about the project? Subject? How they filmed and edited it, etc?)

I'm glad to have helped in whatever small way I could. We are ALL beginners at some point. Less than two years ago I didn't know anything about NTSC vs PAL, what a keyframe is, what an alpha channel is, what AC3 audio is.

I'm not sure when I stumbled onto this forum -- I think maybe a link from CamcorderInfo.com when VMS ver 6 came out -- but it has been immensely helpful and educational to me.

And the thing to remember is that every time someone posts a question and gets an answer here, there are probably dozens (or maybe hundreds?) of readers who also quietly benefit from that answer. I'm sure there are many, many forum readers who never post questions themselves -- who, for whatever reason, aren't comfortable doing that -- but who come here and find the answers and support they need.

Pay it forward...

Tim L

Great!

Why don't you upload somewhere one or more clips from your movie?

We developed a documentary-style film on the nature of evil. Students conducted interviews with teachers and students using Sony DCR-DVD205 camera. They outlined evil as childhood bullies, neighborhood violence, and world leaders.
