movie looks?

Hi everybody.

One the main reasons that i want to upgrade my Vegas 4.0 is the "movie looks" that comes with it. But I can't seem to find any info.
Adobe has a page dedicated to the same plug in that they give with the "pro" and it shows examples of the movie looks-there 10 of them.
How many looks does the plug in for the Vegas 5 gives? How do they look:)? Is there a web-page that I can take a look? From all you that got this plug in, what's your opinion-does it worth?

Thanks in advance.

I am not sure I fully follow you about upgrading for the movie looks...but I'll try to answer -

Magic Bullet
The magic bullet looks will work in Vegas 4 or 5. You view an overview at http://www.redgiantsoftware.com/mbforeditors.html

The vegas support page and download is at http://www.redgiantsoftware.com/vegassupport.html

The plug-in is very basic - it loads a look and that is about it. Keyframes don't do anyting other than "jump" to the next look you may have chosen - in other words you can not slowy go from one look to another. As has been pointed out many many times - Magic Bullet is a render hog overall. It comes with 10 looks and when you register you get 5 more looks.

Film Look For Vegas
Free script from JetDV based on Spots tutorial on film look. Aslo in the install package are a set of basic looks using the existing Vegas filters. Current version is called "RC3" but shortly there will be another verison with more looks.
Film Looks for Vegas.

Zenote
A series of individual plug-ins based on the FilmFX plug-in from BigFX. Zenoté has demos available.

What works best for you is really in your hands. You do not need Vegas 5 for any of the above - that is what is throwing me off because you say "One the main reasons that i want to upgrade my Vegas 4.0 is the "movie looks" that comes with it." If that is the *only* reason you are thinking about upgrading I would just download any, or all, of the above and play with them with what you have - and I am guessing that is Vegas 4. No need to upgrade just for the movie looks.

Thanks people

For Filmy: Yes movie looks is the main reason for vegas 5. Might sound cynical but as a wedding videographer my needs are covered with vegas 4 (as main edit) and adobe/canopus for some extra.
Ant the mai reason for wanting to use movie looks,,,,is the potential competition. You see as a pro i have to go with flow-everybody soon or later will use red giant or similar.
Besides, i strongly believe that both vegas and adobe offer "movie looks" because the changes weren't much-and why should they? They are both fine editors(i prefer vegas).
Any way-sorry was just in the mood for a talk here!

Thanks for the tips/advice and your time.

>>>Yes movie looks is the main reason for vegas 5.<<<

I would just stick with Vegas 4 and download the looks than.

You get five free when you register the plug-in too.

I downloaded jetdv's thingy, and when I launch its installer, a dialog box comes up with the one-word message "Test", and an "OK" button.
I click the "OK" button and then a message comes up telling me that the installation wizard was interrupted before the Film Look could be installed.

Tried again, with same result.

This seems wrong...

Filmy wrote the installation for that program because it installs his film looks as well. It was designed for Vegas 4. I suspect it might be having a problem if you don't have Vegas 4 still installed.

Thank you.
That's probably the problem -- I'm at Vegas 5.

I'll watch eagerly for an update!

I can get you the script itself WITHOUT the extra "looks".
