"well -- the 50 or so for MB for AE all work .. but MB might not like us passing those around ... "
So what you're saying is that if you drag all 50 or so .aex MB for AE files to a certain folder in your Vegas plugins installation folder, you can use it?
Don't you have to have Boris Red GL to use AE effects in Vegas?
The presets are not AEX files .. they are something else in the preset folder (i forgot name now, not at that machine) - they use same suffix as the vegas presets ...
Just had a look it appears that AE MB Presets can be used in Vegas Although Vegas Presets cannot be used in AE... ALSO The preset File sizes in The Vegas Presets are VERY Small Compared to the File sizes In AE presets 2 KB oR SMALLER.... but AE SIZES are 286 KB
as i said -- they all can be used .. the AE file sizes are larger because there is a sample image embeded into the ae presets .. doesnt mater and can even be stripped out if you dont like ..
Thanks B_JM ... Also you have solved the problem of Larger file sizes I was having ! The presets in Vegas also work in AE.. What threw me was usually you would see what the preset looks like (The Picture) before Loading (AE) I just assumed it dident work when the Picture did not appear But if you just press load then it LOADS ....
Just a word about the pre sets from the full version - they will all "load" however they don't all work...at least not fully. After Effects works on a lot deeper level than Vegas so what goes on is AE is *not* exactly that same as what goes on in Vegas. If Tim is floating around he can sort of draw a little comparrision with BigFX FilmFX for AE and the Vegas version - example is that many of us who use the AE version were a bit let down that the port over to Vegas was not an "all in one" set up. Tim explained that because of thae way Vegas handled things it could not handle it the same way. My point is that some of the MB suite presets, such as Bleech Bypass, are not fully functional from AE to Vegas.
i thought that one works -- from the HD version of MB anyway ..
I'm using the HD presets -- though of course Vegas still is severally crippled in that you cant render TO hd or film using the MB movie looks - which takes a LOT away from using movie looks in the first place ..
looking at the MB dlls for AE and vegas -- they are ALMOST the same name, but didnt work yet interchangeably
