Movie size ??

I am new to video, just for my home use ... I just edited 12 minute movie out of video clips from my Canon Powershot and added mp3 music to that (no other sound). I pressed "make movie" - format "avi" - and it shows "estimated size 3,85 GB" (!!) It´s quite a nonsense for 12 minutes movie made out of low quality clips. Could you please advice ? Thanks,

Ivo

Even worse - after reaching 26 GB (!!!) size after 10 minutes of video it stopped. Please, what shall I do? I wanted to save the .avi movie on harddisc ..

Figure 13GB per hour of DV, so that's about in the ballparkfor your 12 minutes.

The 2GB issue sounds like you have your disk as FAT rather than NTFS - you should convert to NTFS.

What do you want to do with the rendered video? Perhaps we can suggest a more suitable format if disk space is a concern.

FAT is limited to 4GB, not 2. The 2GB limitation is an issue with Type 1 AVI files. Type 2 can be enormously larger.
