movie slow motion

For years I have done video transfers of 8mm & super 8 movie film to videotape using my camcorder. Using a variable speed movie projector I can usually eliminate the flutter that sometimes occurs (depending on the speed at which the film was shot ) when the projector shutter is too close to the camcorder shutter speed. This can result in the movie being too fast & jerky.

Is there a way to vary the playback speed of the captured video using the Vegas Movie Studio + DVD software?

Sure, select the event, hold down CTRL, click on the edge of the event, and then stretch (slow down) or shrink (speed up) the event by the amount you like. When you hold the CTRL key down, the edge icon should have a squiggly line underneath it.

Yeah, well, I have been using this for all of two weeks, so I'm not very far ahead of you. :*)

Make sure you get the full manual off the CD or the download site. It describes stuff like this in the chapter "Advanced Editing Techniques".
