Movie Studio 12 Platinum won't open avi with AVC c

Debut video capture software files play perfectly in Windows Media Player in Win 7 32 bits. Sorry, I can't see how to obtain the WMP version number.

When I open these files in Movie Studio 12 Platinum, I get the error message "An error occurred while opening one or more files. An error occurred while opening a codec".

MediaInfo tells me the Debut avi files use the AVC video codec. Is it possible to train Movie Studio 12 to play with AVC?

Download and install the x264vfw codec from Sourceforge. Comes in 32 or 64 bit. Should be all you need.
