Movie Studio 17.0 - Crashes as soon as "Render As" is clicked.

Hi,
I recently purchased Movie Studio 17.0 Platinum as an upgrade from my Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11.0.
Everything works OK, except when I try to click on "anything" to do with Rendering:

e.g. If I try clicking on any of the following they crash the software every time:
Project-Render As
Tools-Render To New Track
Tools-Selectively Prerender Video

I am able to use the 'Make Movie' feature, But clicking on any of the Upload options crashes the software and the 'Save to Hard Drive' option, although it will allow me to Save my project using  the predefined options (MOV, MPeg, MP4  or AVCHD) as soon as try to use "Advanced Options (which is probably the same as using "Render As") - it crashes the software.

I then installed Movie Studio 17.0 on another computer (Windows 7) and I didn't have any problems at all with using the "Render As" options. So it seems there is something about the installation on my (Windows10) computer that doesn't like "Render".

These are the things Magix support asked me to check/try - of which I checked/tried all but none have fixed the issue:

  1. In Vegas or Movie Studio, this error occurs when Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 (3.5.1) is either turned off or not installed properly on the system.
  2. This issue can be resolved by deleting the settings file for the render dialog...it is located at:C:\Users\(User name)\AppData\Local\**App Name**\**version number**\RenderAs.settings 
  3. As a troubleshooting step, navigate to the following folder.  C:\Program Files\VEGAS\VEGAS Movie Studio Platinum 17\x86. Change the name of the x86 folder to _x86.  ​Then try the render afterward.

I also tried uninstalling both 11.0 and 17.0 from my PC, and then reinstalling 17. But no help.

So I thought I might ask on this forum to see if anyone has any ideas?
