Movie Studio Crashes Immediately

Hi,
I just downloaded movie studio platinum, and every time I try to load a clip (.m2ts) the program shuts down immediately. Sometimes Windows tells me the program has stopped responding, other times it simply shuts down. I am using rather large files (800 mb+), but I have tried it with other smaller files and the same issues occur. I'm running windows 7 64 bit. I've come across two threads that discuss crashes while rendering, but I can't even get to that point. This is so frustrating! Please help. Thanks.

Platinum 9 is supposed to work with .m2ts AVCHD files. If indeed that's the format you're using, and it's still crashing, maybe it's the 64bit Win7 thing to blame. Platinum 9 was only tested in Vista and XP, not in Win7, AFAIK. Another thing to try: try loading the app as an admin.

Sorry I can't offer help, but just wanted to say that I am using Vegas Movie Studio 9 Platinum with Windows 7 64-bit and AVCHD clips from a Sony camcorder without problems (other than having to apply the CFF Explorer fix discussed in another thread to prevent crashes when rendering).

That at least indicates that the program is capable of working with AVCHD under Win 7 64-bit. So it could be something related to your system or to your clips.
