Movie Studio Platinum 11 Crashing Consistently

Been using MSP for years. Had issues with earlier versions. Just upgraded comp to I7 Quad Core, 12GB RAM, Windows 7 Machine. Upgraded to MSP 11 (Build 322). Everything's legit, paid for. Worked beautifully for 1 week - every day, 14 hour days editing of 1project. Suddenly, started getting errors. Now crashing consistently. I tried uninstall/reinstall, multiple times. Same crashing same place. Error reads "Unmanaged Exception 0xc000005". At first, I thought some audio files became corrupted. I pulled all the audio that I thought was giving problems. Timeline then ran ok. So, I tried converting audio to Mp3s, for simplicity sake & replacing them into the timeline. Program still began choking at the Mp3-replaced audio points & then crashing with the same error. I wrote Sony Tech support who advised me to uninstall, create new account with admin priveleges, reinstall under new account, register, then log in original account & that all should be fine. Tried that. Same errors, same crashing. Now, timeline crashes anywhere, within about 1 minute of playback. I cannot associate the problem to anything anymore. My system is clean - runs smooth as butter for everything else, no bloatware or unnessecary background services, virus protection turned off. Any solid advice would be extremely appreciated right now. Blessings.

Have you tried uninstalling Build322 and reinstalling the previous build?

It sounds like you have a massive project file.

I suggest splitting it up into two or three parts, and make each of those their own project files. Make a final project file to mend the multiple renders together. It's what I had to do with MS 9 for my little 5 minute videos; haven't had the same issues with 11. Yet.

I know it's a workaround and not a "fix", but hopefully it at least helps you finish for now.

One more suggestion..Open up 2 instances of VSM. Select all clips form one, copy and then paste in the other instance. If the project file is corrupted in the first instance, that should fix the issue as you'll be making a new project file.

Guys, thanx so much for the input. I have tried just about everything u said. First off, I uninstalled & reinstalled AGAIN, under a new user account. It seemed to help this time, though still with hang ups. Then, I changed a setting in my comp to "Adjust for best performance" rather than "for appearance". I was actually able to get thru for a while. Then it crashed again, different spot. I tried opening 2 instances, as Makk655 suggested & copied the clips over. Still crashed. I don't see a way to install MSP 11 without build 322. I searched the Sony site & my archives & was only able to find this one with 322.
Also, this movie is 14 minutes long - if that's what u call a huge project. I tried opening half of the project into a new project & it crashed the 1st time & worked the second time, which makes me think that I will still encounter this issue down the line.

Now, there's a new problem - I opened the project & 7of the clips that are of 1 file name, are showing the clip of another file - completely different clip - even from another folder on my computer - tho it is a file in this project. I thought maybe the file was corrupt, so I re-transferred the original file from my hard drive into the project folder. It looked like it was working till I closed the project & opened it again. Now all of the newly replaced files are still showing up as another file in the project. Does anybody have any clue what is going on? I am going to try a reformat of my comp, but it's brand new, purchased in Feb, 12 & working fine with every other program I have. Any input would be very much appreciated. I am not getting anything from Sony Tech support. Thank u.

Add on: I just checked the properties of the clips that are showing as other clips & within the details, the file name of that clip is of another/differnt clip in the movie - though in the timeline, it is saying the name of the clip it is supposed to be. Can anyone explain that?

Please see the link I listed above. It contains the downloads for previous builds of VMS11.
