Movie Studio Platinum 12 Corrupted Project File

Hello,

Yesterday I was working on a project in Movie Studio Platinum 12. Today, I attempt to load it back up and it tells me that there was an error loading it, and that it is most likely corrupted or in an unknown format. This project was very important, how can I get it to work again?

EDIT- all the files are still in the places they were when I dragged them into the project, and I still have the .sfk's and the .bak.

If the .bak file is pretty recent, rename the file by deleting .bak. That should leave you with a 'project.vf'. Load that file into VMS as a project and you should have recovered everything up to that last save.

sorry, but I just want to make sure I understand this properly so I do not mess anything up. I delete the .bak, and it will automatically rename the project when I attempt to load it? or do I need to rename it myself?

I wasn't clear Matt - Sorry.

All you need to do is rename the file (no need to delete). Remove the text '.bak', so the filename ends with .vf.
