Movie Studio Platinum 17 will not render video [Problem solved]

I installed Movie Studio 17 Platinum Suite, and it worked fine for a few days. Now it will not render video of any format. I keep getting an error message that says an error occurred while creating the media file [name.mp4] A stream could not be read. If anyone could help with this I would be grateful. Thank you.

What are your used sourcefiles and where are they all stored, projectproperties and which renderoption is used?

Thanks for your reply j-v. I was trying to render bitmap images to a short video. I realised now that my problem started when I installed the trial version of Vegas Pro 17. I have uninstalled the trial and now reinstalled Movie Studio 17. Still did not work. I then noticed that in my preferences building a proxy file for HD was not checked. After re-starting and loading my project the proxy file was built which sped the loading process up. Still it would not render. So I tried loading a previous project and it activated the mainconcept codec. Now my video is rendering as it should.
