I'm a convert to Vegas Pro from Platinum Pro. What kind of limitations are you encountering?

Hmmm.... unlimited tracks, more compositing options, pan/crop masking, ability to run scripts, MPEG2 "custom" works, etc...

Here's something that may help you decide:

If all you need is a few more track and eye candy stuff Corel Video Studio may fit the bill at much less cost than upgrading to Vegas Pro 9:

Byron, I'm not familiar with the Corel Video Studio. Is it on a par with VMS? Thanks.

It just seems whenever I work on something I'm unfamiliar with in VMS, I do a search and initially find that Vegas will do it, only to find out that the search found Vegas Pro instead of MS and that I cannot do it. Is there a drawing feature in Pro? Like drawing a line or circle something....

No.

You can download a fully functional trial of Vegas Pro and see if the added features are something you will use. The MainConcept custom render options are a big reason for the difference in price, so you will want to consider if that is important to you.

I've not used X2 Pro so dont know if it's on par w/ VMS, I think it's their competitive product to VMS Plat Pro. The additional tracks alone makes this a pretty good deal IMHO.

No, sorry no drawing feature in Pro like X2. If you want to create a relatively straight line or circle you can just place the line or circle on the time line w/ a transparent background and do a linear wipes for the line and a circular transition for the circle.

Another way is to have a paint program on the screen and use a screen capture program and capture the drawing of the line.
