movie sudio 8 (old version)

I have Vegas Movie Sudio 8. I noticed there are updates for VMS 9. Are there any updates for my older version "8"?

Also, is it safe to say that I won't be able to edit full HD in either program? Or do I need to buy the platinum version for HD editng?

Yes, there are updates. You can find all the info from SCS's web site. Click on the Downloads link near the top to find Updates in the dropdown.

See the Vegas family comparison here for info. You are correct that you will need the Platinum version for editing HD.

Thanks for the info. I figured I had to upgrade to edit in HD.

If your image seems "jumpy" or "choppy" when you pan the camera, try checking if image stabilization is enabled on the camera. I always forget to disable this feature when I pan.
