Movie Titles - Continous playing not Working

hmartine_67 wrote on 3/22/2007, 6:30 AM
I am considering buying this software (DVD Arch. Studio 4.0), and I have downloaded the trial version of it. Very nice program. My situation is that I can not make my titles play one after the other after burned on a DVD. After one title has finished playing it comes back to the main menu; I would like the DVD to continue playing the next title. I have tried and followed the tutorials that come with the software but no sucess! Can somebody help me.
Thank you very much.

Hi,
See topic "Create one avi file or smaller avi files"
http://www.sonymediasoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?MessageID=517464&Replies=6
There is a step-list how to make a playlist which is what you need.
And some comments on "problems" that can emerge.
That topic has not yet come to an end as you see of my last post.

There are a few ways to choose from:

A. Add all your movies to the project and change the End Action setting for each one to link to the next movie you want played.

B. Add all your movies to the project, insert a Playlist, and add your movies to that.

C. Insert a Music Compilation and add all your movies to it.

D. Join all of your movies into a single file before bringing them into DVD Architect. Then bring in that complete file instead.

The last two give the most reliable playback. When you add individual file to a DVD Architect project, they are each inserted as individual video titles. Options A and B above link those titles together, but they're still separate titles. Options C and D will give you one complete title, with C setting chapter points for each "file."

Tried

1. Full video with chapter
2. Playlist will individ. chapters from the full video as sep. video files
3. Movie compilation.

on my USD120 Pioneer DVD-player the "1." works smooth as ever - skip back and forth. No problem. "2." and "3." works bad, it req. multiple pressing of skip button if to skip over the previous chapter. It seems like once a chapter starts to play a "back" skip just skips to the start...

on my xxx USD Pioneer HDR all 3 works perfectly since that machine does not start to jump directly when one press the skip button but awaits further instructions before the skip. On such machine any of the 1-3 will work perfectly.

Same brand, but different quality, and different price. Odd, the electronics prob. cost 2 cents...

Compilation method - does it not allow multiple audio tracks?

Thank you so much for your ideas and subjestions. I will try that once I get home. That was a quick response by the way. I will let you know how it went.
Thanks again and have a nice day.

Nope. Consider that the intended purpose of the Music Compilation feature is to (you should be able see this coming) compile music files. Looked at this way, why would Sony have included the option for alternate tracks?

The concept of using the Music Compilation to stitch together multiple video files is, I believe, one that was stumbled upon by the users. (I''ve a hunch that johnmeyer was the first, though I haven't got much basis for that. ;) It works well, but it's a happy accident that it does.

At any rate, as you have discovered, simply putting all your clips into one file in the first place is the most reliable method.
