not 100% about movie box... but many other pinnacle devices are proprietary and only work with pinnacle software. its a very poor move on pinnacles part...

I had a studio deluxe avdv card that could only be used with pinnacle studio software.

I assume movie box is similar. If it has a firewire port you might be able to use it as an OHCI device to capture via firewire from a DV cam.
