Moving a V8 project BACK to V7??

What would you say is the best approach (if there is any) to transfer a project built in V8 to one that works in V7? I'm using basic dissolves, color correction fx, pan, crop, etc. that are also in V7. (i.e. nothing specific to V8).

Am I screwed?

I've run into at least two show-stopper problems with V8 (1: pulsating out-of-focus with nested veg renders, 2: random drop-outs in renders to avi - like a DVD skipping - fix the problem in one spot, by changing clips, etc. and it shows up in another),.

I need to go back to V7 to get this project done, and I can't afford to start from scratch.

Try exporting an EDL in V8, then import this into V7. You may lose some of the fancies in your project, but it should give you a good baseline to start from.

Bring up your project in Version 8. Open a blank project in Version 7 and copy/paste your events from V8 to V7. (Should be able to transfer everything but Track level effects and motion)

I was wondering if that would work; open 8, open 7, copy/paste from 8 to 7.

Glad to hear it does.

Well, you're fortunate because going from Vegas 8 to Vegas 6 absolutely does NOT work. I'm really stuck!
