Moving captured files to new folder??

I am re-organizing files and am wondering if after moving captured files to a new location, can the vidcap file be conformed to match the new location. The "browse" is grayed out on the clip properties screen, and the thumbnails are no longer showing.

I searched the forum, but found nothing about this.

Not exactly what you're asking, but I am constantly moving project and source files around to different folders, even different drives. Vegas Video will easily find them back. Try this little experiement. Set up a new folder and move one of your source files to it. Close down and restart Vegas. It should pop up a window and tell you such and such file is missing and offer to find it for you or ask if you want to tell it where to look or just forget about it. If or not it rebuilts the thumbnails I don't know, never looked. Also if you update the contents of any folder and don't see a file you know is in a folder, from the Explorer tab just click on the 2nd icon that has two arrows and that will refresh the listing.

Thanks. I am aware of that feature, and it works great, except that it doesn't update the vidcap file.

If I understand your question correctly, you would like vidcap to reference the new location(s) of the captured/logged clips, and the associated thumbnails? If so, I just went through this, and you need to manually edit the properties of each clip (Clip Explorer, in VidCap), to reference the new location(s). Future logging/capture properties should reference the new location, once you have that established. Does this help?

In the properties, the location of the clip is unavailable to be changed. The browse button does not work. What now??

Hi EW,

Has the clip you are trying to change the properties been moved yet?

In my capt3.0, the browse button is greyed-out if the clip is currently found (green). When the clip has been moved (grey), the browse button is active, permitting a location change in properties.

Good to hear, EW!

Might be nice if a global update were available...eh? ;)
