moving clips between projects

hopefully this is my last question for this project I am working on. Is it possible to move a video clip from one project to another? The file is a video capture file and I see it on my hard drive where I back files to but I could not drop the file on to the timeline of the project I want to move the file to. I tried copy and paste but that didn't work.

thanks

P.S. what is a .bak file that I see wth the .vf files?

There shouldn't be any reason why you can't use the same clip in multiple project simultaneously. In the new project just find the file and add it like you would any other file. What happened when you tried to drop the file on the timeline?

Every time you save your project, Vegas creates a .vf.bak of the previous save. That way if you find that you completely messed things up you can rename the old .vf.bak file to .vf and open it to go back to the way it was before.
