Hi Y,

You might make sure QTF (Quantize...button) is active.

Maybe try to look at the settings in the new Ripple Edit functions ? With Vegas 4, I know there's something new there...

MartyH -- thanks. Actually, the Quantize To Frame button was active, which seems to have been my problem. Disabling it allows the arrow keys to move items in increments which are less than frames. Thanks.

Hi J,

Might be best to keep in on for video editing, off for audio only.

Actually, I thought turning off the CTF worked, but now it doesn't seem to. The problem is that I'm trying to sync soundboard audio to separately reocrded audio/video from a camcorder, so I need to be able to move the second (sbd) audio track's events very precisely. It was so easy before.

Hi,

Nudge by pixel should work with QTF off and

"move or trim selected events one pixel left/right using Numeric Keypad 4/6"
(V4 help)

I don't *want* it to move it one pixel. One pixel depends on the zoom level you are in. I want it to move one of the smallest amounts allowed, regardless of zoom level. For audio, that would be nudging sample by sample.

BTW, the Alt key still works in this fashion for positioning the curser, or whatever you call your current location on the timeline.

From page 30 in the manual:

Numeric Keypad 1/3 - Move selected events one frame left/right.

What's a manual?

Seriously, I use the help file -- didn't see that under the keyboard shortcuts, but I'll look again and try it out. Thanks.
