sorry, markers do not lock to events.

the only way is to use ripple edits. when you insert time or delete time with ripple edits turned on, your markers will move with everything else. not really a solution, but that's all you can do.

Thanks for the suggestions but I've tried this and the Markers didn't move when I pasted in part of an event with Ripple Edit turned on. Is there something I'm missing?

use 'insert time' then paste your event.

OK, Insert Time did the trick, thanks!

Now, is there any way to move the Makers back, instead of forward? I couldn't find a Delete Time...

Try highlighting an empty section of the timeline that you want to
remove as a loop (the timeline turns blue), then pressing the [Delete]
key while ripple edits is on. This seems to work for me. Save your
project file first just in case though!

Markers do not lock to events, so don't expect marker rippling to be identical to event rippling-

Thanks, however you can consider this a beg, plead and grovel to have this reature in Vegas Audio 3.0 ;-)...

I think the idea that is behind people asking for markers to move with
events is that, if you cut out part of an event or move events around,
the things that happen in that event have now moved to a different part
of the timeline. So now the marker is still marking the same absolute
spot on the timeline, but is no longer marking the *thing* that it was
placed there to mark.

I understand what you mean about Time Line Markers and there is a need for that. But why limit it to absolute time line indicators?

What we really need are Event Makers. That is, markers that indicate points within events. I'm sure you can understand the use of that. IMO, those would be a fantastic feature.

I know there are some negatives to this, but you can delete a portion of the cd track markers and then regenerate new markers based on the events, once the events are in the right place.

My personal practice is to adjust the event positions until I'm happy with the layout, then generate the markers based on the events, and tweak marker positions if needed. If you create markers at the end you'll always be happy.

Have I missed this in Vegas Audio 2.0? I just re-cheked the manual and help and couldn't find any reference to generating markers based on events. I hope it's there, because I would find it very, very useful...

Sorry, this is in Vegas 3, for CD track markers only.
