Hmm, no response... nobody has ever had to copy a preset? Or do you just create them all again each time?

How about giving this a try...(I am assuming you are talking about effects presets ?).
Place events on timeline equivalent in number to the presets you nned to share. Now add the effect presets individually to each event. Save veg. send to other user...s/he can then save the presets (will probably have to name them)

Never tried but...

You can download the "Preset Manager" utility from the Sony website to transfer your presets.

Preset Manager

Thanks... Just what I was looking for... I thought...

I downloaded and installed it. When it comes up, all the panes are empty. Instructions say to drag presets to the package pane, etc. But not much use if there are no presets. Implication is that all the presets should be loaded at startup. Is that correct?

I'm running Vegas 5.0b. Any ideas?

Has anybody gotten the preset mgr to work on 5.0?

According to past threads, it "appears" that Preset Manager is for audio presets only.
SonyTSW gave a way to preserve custom render templates after new install of Windows and Vegas 4 but I don't think this is what you're after.
Do a forum search on "Preset Manager" but I don't think anyone has been able to do what you want, even though a lot of us have asked for the ability to save customized FX presets, templates, etc. Sorry :-(

The second part of the referenced link was just what I was looking for. All the presets are saved in "Documents and Settings\Application Data\Sony\File Templates". I simply copied the folder since I had no custom presets in the other id. Otherwise you'd copy file by file.

Thanks for the info.
