Moving "the rest of the project"

Is there an easy way to move "the rest of the propject" - from a point on the timeline - i.e. when You want to insert a new item or to delete an existing one? Of course it is possible to make a (temporary) group - by clicking with shift on begin and end - but maybe there is an easyer way I have overseen?

you can try the following:
1. select the start event, then right-click, select events to end.
2. there's also the insert time function.
3. you can also do the 'ripple insert'.
for deleting, you can try the ripple editing

Basically "ripple edits" is what you want. It can be a bit confusing to use though. Clips simply dropped on the timeline dont invoke ripple. They have to be "inserted" either from the trimmer or media pool.
Here is a Vegas 5 tutorial that explains the ripple usage. It's not all relevant to Studio but there are enough similarities to make it usefull.

You can also use the Select tool (instead of the Standard Editing Tool -- it's under the Edit menu, under Editing Tool) and "lasso" all the clips you want to move and then slide them to the right.
