Moving track motion keyframes

I need to slide a bunch of clips upstream, but I can't get the track motion keyframes that are not directly under the clips to move with the clips. I've tried selecting and dragging, and deleting empty space with ripple edit set to move everything it can, but the motion keyframes still don't move.

When I move an event with track motion, I usually set a "restore view" keyframe just before and just after the event, so the track before and after the event is not affected. these are the ones not moving. Is this the wrong approach?

You are not doing anything wrong. It is Track Motion and therefore works at the track level not the clip level. It's very convenient that Vegas is smart enough to move the keyframes that are directly associated with clips automatically. You'll need to move the rest of them manually. You can highlight multiple keyframes and move them all at once so it shouldn't be that hard.

Thanks, Johnny.

It won't be all that easy, though. I've got a lot of complex motion going on on a lot of tracks.

I do appreciate that Vegas can move keyframes associated with clips. But I need to put a whole new section into a project. It's hard to imagine why including track motion in an "Insert Time" move would be so hard. Even if it took two moves: one for the stuff it can move now, and a second for all the track motion keyframes (and anything else (?) it can't move).

Sounds like a job for the brilliant coders at VASST!
