MP3 files fine in V12, non-functional in V13?

I import an mp3 file into Vegas 12, and everything is fine.
I import the same file into Vegas 13, and the audio is nothing but a solid screech - with a flatline audio signal displayed.

The details on the file show nothing unusual: Audio: 00:02:00.648, 128 Kbps, 48,000 Hz, Stereo, MPEG Layer-3

Has anyone else seen this behvior? If so, how to fix?

One thing: When I select the import-media menu item, and the search dialog appears....there is no mp3 file type displayed.

i have that too... other files show waveform correctly, but when exporting they just cut to silent on some parts...

in one project audio was "ramdomly" showing up parts on timeline after export...

now i'm converting to wave with external commandline converters before using on vegas... :(

Odd - not seeing that here - Win7Pro-sp1_64.

Hey guys

Try moving your audio files to a smaller drive. I had some on a 2TB drive - same problem. Chucked them on the smaller system drive - problem solved. Obviously a bug.

No problems here. Have both Vegas Pro versions 12 and 13. Both see, load, and play .mp3 files just fine.

I've got build 373 of VP 13.

My .mp3 files are on a 2TB HDD drive as well, with Vegas itself on the SSD system/boot drive.

Edit:
Maybe it is because my 2TB HDD (where the .mp3's are located) is an external USB3 drive?
