MP4 created with Vegas 12 crashes players

Hi there,

I'm trying to figure out which output filter for MP4 I should use to render my music video in a format that is widely supported for a music video in 1920x1080 HD?

I've tried several , its driving me mad, some work on my computer but Mac users say they hear only audio, and some even crash my powerDVD player in Windows 7....

And also the file sizes are huge, some are 1 Gb for a 5 minute music video and some even 2 Gb, thats ridiculous!

What output filter do others use?

Marcel

There are different settings and resolutions for different purposes.

Do you just want a 1920x1080 to show on a Mac? That's one output template. Something that will play at 1920x1080 on a BluRay disc is another.

Creating a file for YouTube or Vimeo is yet another.

And creating a file for use as part of another project is yet another.

Most simply? Try the AVC 1920x1080 Internet template.

The other option is to take what you have produced from Vegas and pass it through Handbrake, it will allow you to tailor the size using the 'quality' slider control on the 'video' tab.

Also, MP4 produced by Handbrake will probably play on any decent player.

Without the MediaInfo details for the unplayable file(s) you created, it's just another story.
You know the drill by now.
