mp4 / quicktime HD rendering

First, hello to everybody here....

This is my first post here and, in forward, i apologize if this topic has been discused previously here somewhere....

As a noob for HD authoring and various HD standards and codecs, i found little problematic to achieve good results in rendering my HD recorded movies.

My cam is SR11 and software, of course, sony vegas. For days I'm trying to figure out how to export good quality movie that will be played on:

- Sony PS3 (from which my client will play recorded movies)
- PC (for my own purposes)

First i've nearly managed to achieve - media concept mp4 is quite sattisfactory, but i'm still fighting with fields in the video.

So let's start with questions:

1.) since my imported HD video from SR11 is interlaced (50i) i presume that my project settings should be "upper field first" based...? if so, what deinterlace method should i use?

2.) when creating HD movie, using MediaCOncept mp4, should i AGAIN use "interlaced" option.... or am i going to progressive now?

3.) i know that 1440 and 1920 are the same values for width, only difference is in pixel shape, but, again, what settings should i use for my SR11 movies since it's native resolution is 1440, but final should be 1920.?

4.) what settings and bitrates you recommend for good quality HD mp4 movie that will be played on PS3?

5) regarding PC playback, i've noticed that apple trailers encoded in h.264 in mov container play on my cinema display flawlessly! however, i can't manage to export to ANY format and still achieve smooth 1080i/p playback.... any suggestions?

Uff. i remember the times when we took our cam, conected it to PC and tranfered video in 25 frames, 720x576 project.... that was it.... now we have HD but mess with standards.... at least i think so :)

thank you in forwarf for help.
