MP4 renders at different resolution than source

Hi guys,

Using Vegas Movie Studio v 14 (build 105) I am having the following issue:

I have a 720 x 576 MOV file which I have edited and would like to render as an MP4 file in the same resolution. The issue I have is that when I click "Make Movie" and select MP4, the resolution shows up as 720 x 1280 instead and the resulting videos have huge black borders above and below.

I am unable to find any dialog box that would allow me to change the output resolution. If I select the "Advanced options" button. I don't see amy MP4 options.

Screenshots below - any help would be appreciated.

You'll get MP4 choices when selecting MainConcept AVC or Sony AVC in the advanced settings.

Also note that your video project properties (first illustration) are incorrect.

A 720x576 video should use a Pixel Aspect Ratio of is 1.067, not 1.0.

May not completely eliminate your problem, but it will at least match a 4:3 video frame to your 4:3 video. Although this could be complicated by the fact that you're not editing video from a camcorder. This appears to be analog video or even a home movie that has been digitized and/or converted.
