mp4 (simple profile)

I have a Sidekick phone that I really want to render video for. Everything I can find online says this video plays 3pg and .mp4 (simple profile). Now I've rendered to .mp4 plenty of times before, but I just can't seem to get any videos to play. Can anyone help me out and let me know what "simple profile" means or how I can render video for this? thanks

The only phone I've rendered video for is a Sony Ericsson Z520a, so take this with a grain of salt. There are probably two places you need to check:

1. First that the render parameters match exactly what the phone expects. Do you have the exact specs from the vendor, including resolution, maximum bit video & audio bit rates. You indicated that you're not exactly sure what "simple profile" is, so it's entirely possible that the MP4 file you generated isn't compliant. If I remember correctly I replied to another thread by you with a link to descriptions of the various profiles, so take a look at that.

2. Second thing would be make sure that file location & extensions are those that are required by the phone. Sometime devices are a bit finicky.

BTW, what's the exact error message you receive from the device?

Try using the "BASELINE" rather than "MAIN" profile.
Click the little "?" in the corner to see what these settings do for you ;?)

One of the Apple iPod profiles in the Mainconcept encoder might work for you.
