MP4 Won't Play on PSP

My son asked me to encode a MP4 from Vegas for his PSP. The resulting file was smaller than he was able to get on the PSP Video 9 encoder he uses, but the Vegas render would not play. Looks great on the PC though. Any ideas on settings?

I've never done this but did you follow the steps in the manual (p. 314-315)?
They're quite specific on this process.
Also, with the release of 6.0d, there's an updated manual for download.

I don't see any reference to PSP on those pages nor in the index. Who duh thunk Sony would put instructions on the Sony PSP on their manual? Anymore help?

DSE gave you two great tutorials.
However, PSP is on p. 312 in the 6.0c manual and 314 in the 6.0d manual as well as in the index for both of these.

One other thing to check is the firmware of the PSP. Vegas creates MP4 video that can only playback on firmware 2.0 or higher. The first set of PSP shipped with firmware 1.5 and 1.52
