MPEG 1 VS MPEG 2

What is the difference between the two? I have Video Factory and use my rendered videos in Power Point 2002. I've not been satisfied with the quality of my vids but don't have any solutions as of yet. I'm pretty sure that PP will not allow an MPEG 2 to be inserted into my presentations without hyperlinking and doing so would not allow my programs to run automatically.

MPEG-2 will yield a smaller (in terms of bytes/megabytes), higher quality video file versus MPEG-1.

If you'll just be running your presentation off your local PC and don't need to send the file to anyone else, then you might consider rendering to DV-AVI. You'll get great picture quality, but at the cost of having very large file(s).
