If you are NOT having problems with MPEG-2 rendering in Vegas 3, read no further. If you are having MPEG-2 rendering issues in Vegas 3, and you have a DVD burner
(not a CD burner), you can help us beta test the MPEG-2 plug-in update.

Read the following carefully before continuing....

------------------------------------------

We have made some changes to the Main Concept MPEG-2 encoder that shipped with Vegas Video 3. If you would like to test with this beta version of the plug-in, we would appreciate your feedback. With your help, we can make the MPEG plug-in better suit your needs. Please note that this is not a released plug-in, so there may be bugs. Tech support is NOT available for this beta plug-in.

Recent fixes:

- progressive render bug fix
- updated template descriptions
- files now have .mpa instead of .mp2 extension.

Legal:

If you agree to test this beta plug-in, Sonic Foundry will not be held liable for any negative impacts on your projects or your computer. You will not be paid anything, or receive anything in return for beta testing. If you download the plug-in, it will be implied that you have agreed to the above release of liability.

Download the plug-in here:

ftp://porker.sonicfoundry.com/

username: dude
password: sweet
folder: MPEG Beta plug, version 2 build 22

Installation: Drag the files in the beta plug-in folder into

:\Program Files\Sonic Foundry\Shared Plug-Ins\File Formats\MCMPEG.

You will be asked if you want to overwrite all. Select "yes".

---------------------------------------------------------
Q: Does this version of the plug-in meet your requirements? If not, please tell us what exactly you need.
Please send all responses to sonicepm@sonicfoundry.com

Thanks for testing-

No. Do you have a problem with the SVCD template?

No, you cannot import video elementary streams.

Re: Do I have a problem from S. Brenneman...

Thanks for your reply. Quality wise no, but it seems to boost the luminance levels somewhat and the chroma seems a bit lower than it was going in.

I've used the HSL filters etc to correct but then the rendering time increases terribly.

Thanks again.
