I have a number of MPEG-2 files created on an older piece of software (they're fully prepared for DVD.) I'd like to cut them up into smaller pieces in order to make distributing them among DVDs easier. However, when I try to do anything in Movie Studio, it wants to re-render every frame, even though I'm not applying any effects or other edits.
Is there any way to get it to simply pass the existing frames through to the new mpg file?
In a related question: Using MyDVD, is it possible to create multiple indexes into a single mpg file created with Movie Studio? If not, can anyone recommend different authoring software that would allow that?
