MPEG-2 recompression

newmediarules wrote on 6/28/2006, 9:47 AM
Do I have to recompress an MPEG-2 file if I only want to truncate it?

In Vegas, I believe so. You can use Womble Mpeg Wizard or Tmpeg products to truncate without recompression. :)

In addition to Womble and TMPG, you might also check out a piece of software named, "VideoReDo." I use it all the time and it works flawlessly.
