MPEG-2's wont play on other systems

My MPEG-2 files play fine on my system and 3 others I own (2 Me & 2 Win2K), however, on some other systems, the Windows Media Player cannot locate a codec that will allow the files to be played. These other systems are 98's and Me's running Media Player 7.0. Is there a site where I can download the necessary codec's? I don't understand how all of my diverse systems seem to have the necessary codec's while these others don't.

The MPEG2 codec has to be loaded to run. It is not included in OS because it is a licensed codec. The other systems would need to download and install it.

Try VCDHelp.com. You can download it there (on the left side under "OTHER" click "TOOLS"; it's listed under "CODECS"). The codec will also install if you install a DVD player on your computer. Not a DVD drive, but the software that you use to watch the DVD (WIN DVD, POWER DVD, etc.).
