MPEG-2 Transport Stream

Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10 will not open or import the file format .TS (MPEG-2 Transport Stream) that I recorded on a HD digital receiver (set top box).
The unit is a TEAC HDB849

The files will open & play with VLC player.
Has anyone else tried this?

Yeah, this won't work. You will need to re-wrap the .ts file to .m2t or .mpg (without re-encoding) to get it load. There are tools out there that might do that for you.

Most of these PVR files need to be reindexed to correct transmission stream errors, in addition to basic remuxing.

VideoReDo was made expressly for this purpose, and several of us here use it routinely. It will take out TV commercials, too without re-encoding.
