MPEG 2 with latent audio

Randy Brown wrote on 11/18/2003, 2:24 PM
I've never noticed this happening before but for some reason whether I render to MPEG 2 (video/audio combined), MPEG 2 video only and AC3 or MPEG 2 DVDA video stream and AC3 ( the latter 2 being named the same and in the same folder) my audio is about a half second behind the video after burning in DVDA or playing the MPEG 2 (video/audio combined) in Windows Media Player (although it plays fine in V4). Any thoughts?
TIA,
Randy

Sure.

Start the audio portion a half second before starting the video. That should synch it right up.

Media Player isn't that great a choice for playing videos on a PC.

Just a few things I've seen it do:

1. freeze up when other players play the video fine.
2. start, play a few seconds then freeze
3. play the audio only.
4. play the video only.
5. play the video upsidedown
6. not accurately report the length of the movie
7. start playing a file, I shut down Media Player, it still keeps playing
8. start to play five seconds or so,then the video goes black, audio continues.

Hey BB, I should have mentioned that I have been testing them on a DVD player but tested them also on WMP.
Thanks,
Randy
