MPEG-4 Output Format Control

I'm thinking about buying an HD camcorder that encodes video in MPEG-4 720p format. I have been able to import and edit such MPEG-4 video in VMS Platinum v7a just fine. So far so good. However when I go to render the project to an MPEG-4 file, I only have access to predefined templates which are not HD and do not match my target playback system capabilities.

I would like to customize the mpeg-4 output profile similar to what can be done with windows media video Am I missing some steps for modifying MPEG-4 templates or profiles?

I haven't seen any way to create a HighDef Mpeg-4 video in VMS.
The template you would use in VMS 7 Platinum would be the mpeg2 and choose the HDV 1080-60i template. You could also use the cineformhd (avi container), but it uses alot of disk space.

If you want to edit your videos, or convert them to other formats, the first step, the most important step, is to buy a HighDef Camcorder that records in an editable format that programs can work with.
Cams that record in the hd-mpeg2 (HDV) format (usually dv tape) is your best bet.
Sony or Canon.
